DoD KCRP Funding for Kidney Cancer Researchers

by Jay Bitkower on June 14, 2018

The United States Army Medical Command has released the FY18 Kidney Cancer Research Program (KCRP) Program Announcements for its second year of existence. KCRP is the $15 million program that Action to Cure Kidney Cancer lobbied successfully for last year, and which has just announced the awardees for its first year. If you want to see who won the awards, click on the link below.

We encourage kidney cancer researchers to apply for the program this year. This year’s program has five different mechanisms, the first of which, the Concept Award, has a deadline for a letter of intent coming up on July 11, 2018. The other deadlines are September 5, 2018.

You can see the FY18 Program Announcements at the following link: http://cdmrp.army.mil/funding/kcrp.

Similar to last year, the American Urological Association will be hosting a webinar for potential applicants on June 26th. Donna Kimbark, the KCRP Program Manager, will be making the presentation. We encourage kidney cancer researchers to apply for the awards and to attend the webinar if you are first time applicants or want to have the award mechanisms explained, two of which are new this year.

We also encourage researchers in disciplines other than kidney cancer who have developed innovative solutions in other cancer types, but who feel that they will be applicable to kidney cancer, to apply as well.

The webinar information is provided below.
