Launching New Website
by Jay Bitkower on December 7, 2014Today ACKC is launching its new website, updating older material and adding new content, which we will continue to do in the future. Two new features on the Homepage are “News” and “Point of View” essays.
News will commence with two articles, one highlighting two studies on the use of sunitinib (Sutent) in the elderly, and a second article featuring Maria Czyzyk-Krzeska from the University of Cincinnati. Maria is one of the two winners of the latest grant awards from the Department of Defense for kidney cancer research. These awards, totaling over $1 million, were made possible by ACKC’s effective lobbying efforts in Washington each year. If you are interested in joining next year’s campaign, i.e., sending letters to your Congressmen or joining us in Washington, then please sign up at Campaign 2015.
Our first Point of View essay, is an in depth look at the high cost of cancer drugs, and will be published soon. Please look out for it. ACKC is free to focus on issues such as the high cost of drugs because we don’t accept money from drug companies. If you can help us with financial support, especially during this giving season, please go to our Donate page and contribute what you can.
We are also proud to have completed all four “Taking Charge Guides” with the publication of Guide #4 “When Treatment Ends”. Please take a look at these guides and give us you feedback at info@ackc.org. In fact, if you have a comment about anything on our website or, if you have a suggestion as to what we are doing or should be doing, please let us know. And, of course, if you wish to volunteer, please sign up to Become an Advocate.
In the meantime, follow us on our website, Facebook, and Twitter and enjoy your holiday season and stay healthy.
